Bankroll and Correct Bet Size

In This Chapter

*******************************************************************

In Chapter 23, we found out the best bets that give us an advantage over the house. We know what bets we have to make. Now the question is – what is the correct size of the bet? The size of your bet is determined by your bankroll, the type of your bet and the risk associated with that bet......................................................................................................................................................... ..................................................................................................................................................................................................

As you can see, I connect the correct bet size for any particular bet with the risk value for that bet and the loss limit. It makes sense to do that, because, if you play with that bet size and find yourself down to the loss limit, that tells that you reached the risk value. That means, that you’re either in the middle of the "negative storm in probabilities" that can always happen during the short run, or your application of Dice Control has problems, which you can't spot. Whatever the reason is, the only sensible thing to do is to stop playing – go to your hotel room, reflect upon everything that happened and take a nap for an hour to refresh yourself and calm yourself down. After that, start a new session – preferably in a different casino.

Remember that the most obvious sign of your maturity as a gambler is your ability to accept a loss or a modest win and walk away from the dice table. Some people can’t stop playing until they lose everything. Others can’t stop, because they want to win the golden mountains and rivers full of wine, instead of a few hundred bucks. If you’re one of them – then you might be a grown man elsewhere, but behind the dice table you’re still a gambling punk and mama’s boy...................................................
